The purpose of this course is to give you an understanding of why and how businesses work with a sustainable business understanding, while providing you with the knowledge and tools to transform CSR/sustainability into practice.

Practical information

  • The course

The Summer school in Sustainable Marketing will provide you with an understanding of why and how companies can work towards a more sustainable business concept. Furthermore, the course is centered around business‐driven social responsibility and gives you the knowledge and tools to take CSR/Sustainability from talk to action. You will get a unique opportunity to obtain new knowledge, while learning to solve real-life problems related to the UN’s 17 SDG’s and Sustainable Marketing through problem-based learning.

During the course, you will visit companies, and participate in cultural and social trips and events.

    Teaching method

  • About Dania Academy and Viborg

The address of our campus is: Prinsens Allé 2, 8800 Viborg, Denmark.

Dania Academy is university of applied sciences offering study programs within business, technology, IT and health. We have 7 different campuses, one of them in Viborg, which we share with another university of applied sciences. For more information, click here. For information on The city of Viborg, click here.

  • Travelling to Viborg

Since you all will arrive in different airports or train stations, we will not be able to offer you a pick-up service. This means that you will have to find your own way to Viborg, but hopefully this information will help you plan your trip.

Dorm address: Tingvej 19, 8800 Viborg, Denmark.

Time of arrival: Sunday 4 August. There will be no program until Monday morning. Your fee covers accommodation for a maximum of 14 nights, for instance from Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday. Extra nights cost DKK 200 per night.

If you are getting financial support from the Erasmus+ program, you should be aware that you are eligible for a bit of extra support if you travel “green”, i.e. by train, bus or carpooling.

By train: If you travel by train, your destination will be Viborg Railway Station. If you book your ticket on the Danish State Rail’s homepage, www.dsb.dk/en, the name of this stop is “Viborg St.”

By bus: For instance, FlixBus operates in most European countries and also domestically in Denmark. The Danish website is www.flixbus.dk. From here you can reach various national sites, including Viborg.

    By air:

    • Copenhagen Airport + a 4-hour train ride to Viborg (good option if you want a day or two in our capital city).
    • Billund Airport + a bus ride to Vejle (30 minutes) and from there a train ride to Viborg via Aarhus (2 hours), or a bus ride to Aarhus (90 minutes) and then a bus or train ride from there to Viborg (1 hour). Billund is famous for Legoland, so you might want a stop-over there.
    • Aalborg Airport + 10-minute train ride to Aalborg and a 90-minute bus ride to Viborg.
    • Aarhus Airport + a 35-minute bus ride to Aarhus and from there a train/bus ride to Viborg (70 minutes).

We strongly suggest you check out the local transport with public transportation on Google Maps for further details. An alternative to Google Maps is the Danish service/app www.rejseplanen.dk.

Please note that you should NOT buy your train tickets on the train – that’s very expensive.
