Content and structure

The Bachelor of Finance degree is a 3½-year degree aimed at those who want to work with complex issues in the financial sector. The education combines theory with half a year of practice in a company. 

With a bachelor's level education, you will have thorough and solid knowledge as a graduate, which gives you a good basis for solving complex problems in financial companies. 

Curriculum

  • Business understanding

    Business understanding is about how business is conducted within various industries; property trading, property administration, bank and mortgage, insurance and pension as well as financial function and auditing. The focus is on the various products that are offered within the business scope of the education to customers, business partners and users, as well as how the individual industries interact with each other and others.

  • Method and scientific theory

    Method and scientific theory equip you to work with what we call the scientific working method. You also gain an understanding of the connection between knowledge, method and result.

    The subject contains qualitative and quantitative methods for project design, data selection, data collection and reporting, as well as validity and reliability of data in connection with investigations and knowledge dissemination. 

  • Communication

    Communication can be seen as an overarching theme that speaks to all the subject areas of the education.

    There is a focus on communication theories and communication models as well as concrete tools for oral and personal communication, as well as written communication.

    Also contains internal and external company communication.

  • Business Economics

    Business economics on the Finance bachelor's degree is about accounting analysis, budgets, credit assessment of companies as well as optimization under various forms of competition and calculation.  You learn about financial information systems and their connection with the annual accounts, in order to carry out credit assessments and prepare investment analyzes and proposals for companies and more.

  • Micro and Macroeconomics

    Microeconomics is about central microeconomic theory and you come across topics such as market forms, efficiency, externalities, welfare and regulation.

    In macroeconomics, you work with socio-economic objectives, including income generation, competitiveness, interest and exchange rate formation as well as economic policies.

    In addition, the subject contains analysis of macroeconomic policy as well as assessments of the consequences of macroeconomic policy.

  • Statistics

    Here you learn about descriptive statistics and statistical analysis tools, including various hypothesis tests, regression analysis and variance analysis. You will generally also work with data analysis in statistics. 

  • International capital markets

    Here you learn about legal method and the application of relevant legal rules within the profession of finance. You learn to identify a legal problem, and to prevent or solve the problem to the extent possible.

  • Private financial advice and ethics

    Private financial advice and ethics contain specific private financial issues - for example the connection between income and life course and financial dispositions. In addition, you will get methods and tools for collecting and analyzing information in relation to personal finances as well as preparing concrete solution proposals.

    The subject includes financial advice for the typical private customer through all life phases as well as ethics and value standards in various industries and their self-regulation.

  • Sales

    Here you learn about personal selling and the importance of personal advice. You learn to identify different customer types, and based on these to prioritize and plan a personal sales and advisory effort. 

  • Cultural understanding

    Cultural understanding is about organizational and company culture as well as cultural challenges. In addition, the subject includes the internationalization process, when the company's customers have to establish themselves and do business in a foreign market.

  • Marketing

    Marketing is about the company's value creation. Including the value that is created through direct and indirect interaction with customers, suppliers, competitors and others. In order to create value for itself and others, the company must be able to develop offers that are competitive in the market - both when it comes to quality and price and the relationship between them.

    Marketing contains marketing theories and tools as well as analysis of the company's strategy. You also learn to make a needs analysis of the company's customers and the derived value creation at the company.
