Optometry
Do you want to help people find the right pair of glasses? Your primary task as an optometrist will be to help people with their vision.
You will be able to make advanced healthcare examinations, elaborate and measure vision problems, advise about glasses and contact lenses, and help with eye training exercises for the patients. As an optometrist, you can also get a job at a private practice doctor or public health center.

Programme structure
The 3 1/2 years Optometry Bachelor programme was designed to combine theory and practice. The programme consists of two years of teaching at Dania and 2 internships in a company, totalizing 3 1/2 years.
The first, second, fourth and parts of the 5th and 7th semester take place at the academy. Here you will attend classroom teaching that is practice oriented and realistic and will practice in our own clinic.
The programme provides a total of 210 ECTS and is structured around these core areas:
- Eyeglass, technology and workshop optics
- Basic science
- Human Science
- Legislation and trade
- Ocular pathology and pharmacology
- Optics
- Optometry
- Visual Science
In addition to the core areas, you will be able to choose elective elements in order to specialize in your desired direction.
Internship
In order to create the right balance between your theoretical knowledge and your ability to apply it in practice, you must complete an internship in an institution of your choice.
The internship experience will give you an insight on life with a Bachelor Degree in Optometry from Dania. As part of the Optometry study programme, you will spend 18 months in internships. One internship of 6 months and one more of 12 months.
