Strong backgrounds
For two years, Remus and Vasilica have been part of a Non-governmental Student Organization responsible with European Projects and Personal Development through Education. As part of the organization, Remus was in charge of an entire department, while his sister was part of the Marketing and IT division. Moreover, in terms of education, Vasilica studied Political Sciences while Remus has a degree in International Relations and European Studies from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iasi.
Furthermore, as part of his studies, Remus spent a semester abroad as an exchange student at VIA University College and an additional five months as intern at MEP Europrojects Granada in Spain. "I first got in contact with Denmark as an exchange student at VIA and I immediately saw the opportunity of living and studying in Denmark. I then met several fellow students from Dania and they introduced me to their study programmes, explained about the study techniques and many more. After my semester abroad as an Erasmus student, I was accepted as an intern in Spain. After five months I decided to return to Denmark, only this time, as a student at Dania", explains Remus.
A clear dichotomy
Remus and Vasilica's education choice hints at their personalities. Although brothers, the two have completely opposite personalities and interests. However, both have chosen their study programme accordingly. "I am mainly interested in subjects such as culture, communication and human behavior. I find it interesting to understand how people from different cultures communicate and what behavioral traits they possess. Most importantly, I find it interesting how such data can be useful in advertising. Since I like to be surrounded by people from as many nationalities as possible, I believe the Marketing Management programme is suitable for me; especially since I intend to specialize in communication", says Vasilica.
In contrast, Remus has chosen a technological study programme at Dania. "I chose to study IT-Technology because I am a technical person and computer science and technology have always fascinated me. I strongly believe that the IT study programme here at Dania will strengthen my skills and competencies and pave my road to reaching my career dreams", explains Remus.
Adapting to the Danish society
Both Remus and Vasilica have previous experiences abroad. Remus has finished an internship in Spain, while Vasilica has experienced living in Italy. The two brothers are adjusting to the Danish culture and way of life. Naturally, the two are adapting in their own way. "Since I came here, I have a more healthy life. I use the bike as my main transportation means, I try to eat as eco as possible and I can easily say that my self-confidence has increased", smiles Vasilica.
Remus, on the other side, has a different perspective. "I have previously been to Denmark and therefore I am aware of the Danish lifestyle and culture. However, I have not taken too many of the Danish lifestyle habits. My work schedule is not quite permissive so my life is split between work and school. It is a race", says Remus.
Plans for the future
Remus and Vasilica dream big. Already with strong international backgrounds, the two brothers have their future in mind. "I plan to apply for an internship abroad and afterwards to continue my Education", says Vasilica while Remus dreams of becoming a successful entrepreneur in Denmark. "There is a lot of potential in the IT industry here in Denmark. I believe that young graduates with fresh skills and an orientation towards innovation can make it on the market and therefore I truly hope to be one of them by the time I will finish my education here at Dania", explains Remus.
Although two completely different personalities, Remus and Vasilica Manolache have one common goal: education.
