Iuliana Radu is eager to start her internship in Italy. The 21-year old AP student will have the opportunity to work with ADR Company, a mediation and arbitration firm for the next three months. She will have the opportunity to apply all the valuable knowledge gained during her theoretical training at Dania. Iuliana feels that the interdisciplinary education that she experienced has helped enrich her knowledge and boost her competencies.

While studying at Dania, the student from the Republic of Moldova has worked with several projects with real companies as clients. In this regard, Iuliana sees the benefits of this type of training:  "I am confident that all I have been taught, will be extremely helpful for my internship. Through project work with several Danish companies I got to combine theory with practice and get a glimpse on the real life business world."

Internship expectations

After thorough searches and by making use of her network, Iuliana successfully managed to receive a recommendation. The AP student now has the opportunity to work for the Italian company's office located in Calabria and she will focus on aiding the company achieve its expansion goals. After successfully signing the contract with the Italian company, Iuliana carefully thought through all the details. She genuinely hopes to gain valuable experience in the business world and sees her internship as an important step in her career development. When it comes to expectations, Iuliana sees the internship as a learning experience and wishes to grab a hold on the best advice from specialists: "for me, the best teacher is experience!"

The challenge of service management

Considering a service company as her internship place was a brave decision for Iuliana who will work with both the B2C and B2B market. She is aware of the fact that service management implies complex tasks, but the challenge does not scare her: "Of course it will be a dare for me! It's new country, with new laws, a foreign language and new culture. I am not afraid of a challenge and as a result I believe I will succeed. I have the proper training."

Future perspectives

As part of their studies, AP marketing students have to hand in a final project based on their internship experience. Iuliana is quite confident about this matter and has thought the whole experience through. "My final project will have service management at its core. I will also be looking at franchising management and marketing planning as the company is intending to expand into central Italy in the near future."

As far as jobs are concerned after the internship, the AP student would like to focus on her education, but has set some clear goals: "After I am done with the internship I will continue with my education and as a result I will not be immediately looking for a job, but as a future perspective I am aiming towards working in an international company specifically with marketing planning."

Erasmus+

As many other Dania students going abroad, Iuliana has applied to the Academy for and been granted financial support from the EU program Erasmus+. "One of the factors that gave me the possibility to pursue my internship abroad is the Erasmus+ support. The application procedure was clear while ADR and Dania kept direct contact regarding my situation. All in all, I am glad to know that part of my expenses will be covered by Erasmus+."
