Honorata, our international student from Dania Academy in Viborg just finished her 3-month internship in Skive at HF Smede og Maskinvaerksted. The Marketing Management student was offered a job in the organization nearly half way of her placement.
Honorata Rajewska from Poland did her internship at HF Smede og Maskinevaerksted in Skive. Once more, one of the Marketing Management students from Dania chose technical industries for their internship, courageously showing that they are prepared for any challenge.
"At first I was a bit reticent about the industry as I did not have good knowledge about brick cutters and window racks, but then I thought it would be an interesting challenge. After all, I does not matter what the product is, but what you can do with it so that it reaches its target", explains Honorata.
Successful new market penetration
Honorata used her mother tongue as a major advantage in her internship. "I worked with the Polish market, trying to find new customers. It was quite an interesting experience to be able to speak my own language even though I am in Denmark and I am studying in English. It was easy for me to approach companies and present the products and therefore I gained more reliability", says Honorata
As part of her internship, Honorata managed to score a major contract by herself enabling HF Smede og Maskinevaerksted to enter the Polish market. "I suggested that they should go to Budma trade fair in Poznan, and that the Polish market has a great deal of potential for their products and they accepted. It was so exciting. I even took part in the negotiation process. Shortly after I was offered a part-time job", smiles Honorata
Internship tasks
"I worked in the B2B sector mainly with Sales, Negotiation and Communication. I mainly found tasks for myself and even though it was a challenge at first, I managed to find my own way of doing the job and it worked! I found myself applying many of the theories I learned at Dania and I was rapidly given big responsibilities", says Honorata
Recommendations for future interns
The Marketing Management student from Dania Academy in Viborg describes the experience as fulfilling and has some recommendations for the future interns. "I would definitely recommend HF Smede og Maskinvaerksted. They have welcomed me and helped me adjust; they have pushed me into improving my Danish skills and have shown great confidence in my competencies. It was hard to find an internship, but my advice is to always make use of your network and don't give up!"
