''Every failure can become a success''

Georgiana Mitronici is an international student at Dania Academy studying Marketing Management at Campus Viborg. As part of her education, she has completed an internship and her company of choice is Samson Pumps. During the entire experience, Georgiana learned several valuable things.

As an international intern in a Danish company, Georgiana has met both success and struggles. However, the Romanian student is part of a welcoming environment and receives the full support of her co-workers and superiors. "Everyone was so polite and helpful to me. What I mostly liked is the way they communicated with me and the fact that they are very open people.  I definitely got a full glimpse into Danish culture, although at the beginning it was a bit difficult adapting to the culture", smiles Georgiana

Due to her strong knowledge and positive attitude, the 21-year old student received complex tasks on a daily basis. Georgiana dealed with various customer profiles and contributed to the company's sales process. 'I worked as part of the Marketing Department and one of my closest colleagues was, in fact, a Dania graduate. My main work was within the lead-generation area and I learned a lot about various CRM systems. I overviewed cases and clients and sent reports to the sales employees. It is interesting to see how my research and assessments helped when dealing with clients".

Studying at Dania  - a positive influence

Studying abroad had a positive influence on the Romanian student. Coming from a different education system, Georgiana was introduced to a new manner of learning and a new mindset. ''Studying at Dania has given me the vision upon real work. I received high quality interdisciplinary education in close relation with practice. For example, in my internship I could apply the knowledge gained during the Communication, Marketing, Statistics courses we had at the academy. I also learned that I should not be afraid to make mistakes because every failure can become a success", explains Georgiana.

An interesting background and a proactive student life

Although many students have their attention channeled on one direction, Georgiana is a polyvalent person. In her daily life, she manages to combine the inclination for static disciplines like mathematics and informatics with the love for arts and creativity. Aside from being a full time marketing student, Georgiana has a job, she gets involved in several volunteering activities and enjoys French boxing, salsa and painting.

"Although I graduated from the National College of Informatics, I have always been interested in culture and arts. I never asked myself how would that help me in life, but I just realized that in the field of Marketing I could benefit from my passions. Combining my technical and mathematical skills with knowledge about culture and with outbursts of creativity is a clear advantage in the field of Marketing. I think it makes me understand it on a deeper level and encourages me to think outside the box", explains Georgiana.

Moreover, the 21-year-old Marketing Management student managed to get the attention of another Danish company during one of the activities organized at Dania. Modified Solutions ApS, web bureau noticed her efforts.

"I am glad I participated at this event organized by the academy, because I got the opportunity to work for Danish companies while also having fun. I felt closer to other cultures while gaining valuable skills from the entire experience. My team and I did our best to defeat the competitor and win the attention of the companies that attended the event", finishes Georgiana.
