Paving the path to the carrier of their dreams

Three and a half years ago, the recent AP graduates in Marketing Management at Dania in Randers, Iuliia Tytarchuk and Oleksandr Shurmelov decided to join their lives in marriage and follow their dream careers together. In June this year, they made the first step with a brilliant grade of 12 in the AP Final Project, based on the international company, Samson Agro.

"We wanted to find out how to improve the penetration of Samson Agro in the Russian market. The firm is already developing a strategy, but we came up with new ideas on how to do marketing in Russia. We doubled their date-base with potential customers and dealers", says the couple.

"Samson Agro was satisfied with our project. It seems like they are willing to take more interns from Dania in the future", states Iuliia.

This positive feedback is supported by a recommendation letter from the company, stating that: "The report has succeeded in systematically capturing and treating the main challenges related to Samson's penetration of the Russian market, both in terms of information collection and analysis."

According to Martin Schousboe, Sales & Marketing Director at Samson Agro, the two students demonstrated a good understanding of the conditions under which Samson Agro must execute its ambition and strategy for Russia.

Iuliia and Oleksandr picked this company since Oleksandr did his five months internship there as a seller. "I had to contact Russian customers, offer the products, analyze and evaluate potential customers from Russia. It was a good experience because they wanted me to work with the Russian market, and I know this culture, the way that they are thinking and the business and how to communicate with them", says Oleksandr.

The couple dreams of getting their own business in the future. Iuliia studied for a BA in accounting and auditing in Ukraine and moved to Denmark in 2009 to develop her professional experience after hearing many good stories from her friends that live in Denmark. "I found Dania a suitable place to continue with my economics career", states Iuliia

Oleksandr, on the other hand, studied foreign languages: English, German and Literature, and came to Denmark ten years ago. "I wanted to study before in Denmark, but I could not afford it. Now that I have the permanent residence, I can study for free, so in 2012 I decided to enroll in Dania together with Iuliia".

The young couple keeps working on developing their expertise and learning, and after coming back from summer holiday, Oleksandr has found a job to advertise a company in the Eastern European countries, and Iuliia has been admitted to the top-up in Economics and Business Administration at the Aarhus University.
